Flashback Friday Post: April 4th 2026

Remembering & honoring Jeff’s memory at this year’s RARSfest which happens every FIRST Saturday in April. Jeff liked to go to any hamfests he could find but this one became a tradition once he found out about it. We would always go and stay in a hotel overnight so he could be there at the State Fairgrounds at the Jim Graham building bright & early. This year’s event was held on Jeff’s birthday so TJ & I thought this would be a perfect way to honor him on this special day. In the past, it was a family affair. Jeff & his dad would go explore the world of Amateur Radio while TJ & I explored hotels that TJ hadn’t featured on his elevator YouTube Channel then afterwards we all would find a good place to eat before heading home. TJ & I decided to just drive up for the day instead of staying in a hotel the night before as we were OK not getting there right as the doors open. We did make a plan that we would honor our tradition of exploring hotels which we found 4 of those to film for his YT Channel. The day brought back so many memories of the times we had gone to other hamfests with Jeff. It was also fun to make the new memories with TJ. Back in 2021 Jeff’s birthday had fallen on Easter Weekend and we had gone to an aviation museum and covered bridge before finding a nice place to eat over in Chapel Hill. TJ had the idea that would be a great place to eat supper on the way home from the RARSfest so that is just what we did. The above photos are from Stoney River Steakhouse taken this year on April 4th 2026 but we are also including a Flashback Video from 2021 of our family’s outing in April celebrating Our Risen Savior Jesus Christ over Easter Weekend plus celebrating Jeff’s birthday.

Happy Birthday Jeff! You Are Not Forgotten.

Happy Heavenly Birthday Jeff! This is the 4th time you are celebrating this special day in Heaven while we celebrate you here on Earth. We still think about you and treasure the memories we have of you every day. We are thankful for the blessings God has so graciously given us in this life and one of those many blessings was having you for a husband and a father. We miss you as we continue down life’s journey. You are loved and You are forever remembered! Till We meet again on the shores of Heaven. With Our Love always, Julie and TJ
