April 4th has arrived again and Foggy Point Light author Jeff Burns is turning 61 in Heaven today. As family and friends, we are celebrating the many loving and unique ways Jeff lived his life. Jeff was a loving husband, father, brother, friend, author, broadcaster, computer genius, comedian and storyteller. The list could go on as he was so gifted in many talents. He was definitely placed on this earth for a purpose and that was to be the person God created him to be.
“For such a time as this, I was placed on the earth. To hear the voice of God and do His will, whatever it is” Lyrics by Wayne Watson
The lyrics above are a short testimony of the type of life Jeff lived. Jeff’s Minister of Music at University Hills Baptist Church, Mike Toney, wonderfully adds to that testimony when he said, “What Jeff did, he did well to the best of his ability”. We so miss his example of how to follow in God’s will, no matter what God was calling him to do. Jeff excelled in being a practicing “Christian Lighthouse” during the time he was placed on this earth. He stayed true to God’s Word, even when he had questions. He searched and applied the teachings of the Bible. He really followed and lived God’s Word as Colossians 3:23-24 instructs, “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.”(NLT)
Video Clip of Jeff giving a testimony of his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ at a time when that faith was put to the test of life’s circumstances shortly after his son TJ was born.
Please take time to pray today for the Foggy Point Light family and remember the blessed times that you may have had with Jeff. If you need to learn more about becoming a Christian, “now is such a time” to visit http://www.peacewithgod.net.
Happy Birthday to you Jeff and we love you & miss you so very, very much.
