Easter Memories

Above are photos of Jeff & his father, Charlie on a Easter Sunday in the ’60s.

A Reflection On Easter Sunday

How many of us remember Easter growing up? Some of us would get an Easter basket full of treats or/& maybe have an Easter Egg Hunt. I can remember getting a new Easter outfit to wear to church. I ponder of how many of us were taught that these Easter traditions while fun, are not what Easter is all about? Easter is the story of God’s son, who had come down to Earth & took on human form (that part of the story is what Christmas is all about) to show us how to live but also how to die.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 (NIV)

Mankind’s fall started in the Garden Of Eden when Adam disobeyed God & ate of the tree that God had told him & Eve not to eat from.

Jesus took upon himself all mankind’s sins when He CHOSE to die upon the cross. He willingly gave up His sinless earthly life to pay our ramson!

Romans 5:12-21 tells us how mankind’s redemption is made through the obedience of the second Adam, Jesus Christ who did the will of His Heavenly Father to become the Redeemer of Mankind & bring eternal life in Heaven for all who will accept his gift of grace & mercy. It is my prayer that you will take time to read this passage in the Bible & ask for God’s saving grace if you haven’t done so yet. Happy Easter! He Is Risen! He Is Risen Indeed!

Below is a video of Jeff singing in church in 2004. The song was one of his favorites that I think is still very appropriate to share with you this Easter Sunday in 2026. The song is written from the viewpoint of Jesus telling his father “This One’s With Me”
